About our courses

Garden Organic is the authority on all organic horticultural matters. Our charity brings together thousands of people who share a common belief – that organic growing is essential for a healthy and sustainable world. Our aim is to get everyone growing ‘the organic way’ and our range of courses are designed to offer access to our expert organic knowledge wherever you’re located.

The essence of organic growing is to work within natural systems and cycles and at Garden Organic, we follow the five pillars of organic gardening that are at the heart of all of our educational activities.

Build and maintain soil health. The soil is full of life, which supports healthy plant growth.

Encourage biodiversity. Life forms such as plants, insects, birds and mammals all have a role in creating a resilient growing system.

Use resources responsibly. Using sustainable methods and resources, with minimum damage to the planet.

Avoid using harmful chemicals. Toxic chemicals can damage the health of your growing area, and the life-forms within and beyond it.

Maintain a healthy growing area. A diverse growing system, good hygiene, and close observation all help prevent problems.

Do you offer other courses?

Yes! We have a diverse programme of educational activities and courses that run throughout the year including masterclasses and practical skills sessions delivered on-site in our organic garden, instructor led webinar courses on a wide range of organic growing subjects, and suggested talks and events delivered by our trusted partner organisations.

All of our instructor led courses are delivered by our in-house horticultural experts and offer the opportunity to develop your organic growing knowledge alongside like-minded growers as well as quiz our experts to find the answers to your specific growing questions.

Course attendance to both our on-site courses and webinar sessions is limited to enable an effective collaborative and participative learning environment. Please visit our ‘Events and courses’ webpage for information on our upcoming events and course availability.
